I've been studying Dom Sibley's technique. Its very interesting that if you watch through a mirror, ie he becomes left handed, he bares a striking resemblance to Alastair Cook! Where did Cook score his runs, leg side, where did Cook struggle, outside off stump.

I didn't rate Denly at all a while back, but he has gone up in my estimations, no superstar but he has a bit of bottle about him, something this English team has lacked somewhat.

Just never throw him the ball

Problem with England selectors is the guys who have the consistency in the cc rarely get rewarded unless they are desperate. Middle order guys like Denly hildreth northeast have from memory averaged 40+ every season, but the players selected are normally the ones who average 35 most years then one random standout year. One of Denly or northeast should have been given a chance 5 years ago when bell departed

That is the Newlands length you bowl after all the hard work and Rassie drops another sitter.

Very lucky for Rassie to get Root 2 balls later.

They keep blaming QDK. First slip needs to accept that the wk may jump across and or miss and he still needs to be taking the catches. I think the reason Rassie is so far back is that QDK can cover the drops short of slip catches (like earlier) but if it fly's Rassie should be far enough back to be able to collect.

Nah Denly averages less than 40 in CC.

Does he field at first slip in domestic cricket? If he's more often at second or third slip then he wouldn't be used to the keeper diving across him. But if he's usually at first slip then I agree with you - even if it might be the case that De Kock goes for more than the keepers that Rassie's used to fielding alongside, it's still something that he needs to be prepared for.
