Hmm not sure, Foakes came in and immediately looked settled at this level, and there's a natural tempo to his batting - I can see it with Burns too. With Bairstow you feel like he'll play any shot irrespective of the scoreboard

Love how sky sports just change the cricket onto one of its other channels with no warning. Looked up after the ad break and bloody Scottish football came on the screen. Missed an over of play!

Oh yeah but like Bairstow could be one of the most coached players in history - spotted as a super-talent early and debuted in internationals in his early 20s, would have spent a huge amount of time at Loughborough, with the Lions etc etc. If there's a player who the highest levels of English coaching setup - and this is the most well-resourced, deepest and most complex coaching setup in the cricketing world - should be able to turn into a Test match technician, it's Bairstow. As Gnske says he's played 70 Tests ffs.
