When it was announced that Liverpool would be playing two games with different squads it was said that the League Cup squad would be similar to the previous rounds. That’s clearly not the case. In the previous round there were fringe players and even a few regulars in the side and on the bench. The entire first team squad is abroad and a handful of them won’t kick a ball. He could have divided the squad up differently instead of totally surrendering the League Cup tie.
