Whatever it takes!!!
Woah, let's not say stuff we'll regret here!

Lol.. the guy will forever be a villain for the reason I mentioned in my previous post. And he made it a habit to always do well against us, does not endear him all that much. :p

Seriously, Amazing batsman though. :)

Hard to hate on Martyn imo. Great Aussie players who weren't complete jerks are as rare as unicorns.

From this very perspective I always loved Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne. Were lambs to slaughter in India.
I guess I can't argue against your reason for liking them, if anything that's a good reason.

But I'm still going to have to give you a yellow card for this post hurricane.

Wait a min , so many Aus posters are picking Steve smith instead of Viv Richards in their AT XI despite Viv Richards would make AT XI of 95 % retired cricketers.

So Steve smith has done enough to replace Viv Richards in AT XI but Rohit sharma hasn't done enough to replace Gilchrist in ODI AT XI despite the fact that even before Rohit emergence as a great ODI opener, Gilchrist wasn't sure of his place in AT XI. Talk about hypocrisy
Let us give it a rest. The India-Australia contest here was quite interesting earlier but is slowly becoming like a India-SL cricket contest with the frequency of it and is getting boring. We can restart it after a month or so.

I hated every moment of it while secretly loving it deep inside. It was a very un-Martyn like innings though, more grit and determination than free-flowing strokeplay. Great great knock, would rate it right up there with Pietersen in 2012.

I was more annoyed that we never got to see India chase on day 5, reckon we would have won it. :)

ATG T20 team:

1. Rohit Sharma
2. Chris Gayle
3. Virat Kohli
4. Eoin Morgan
5. Glenn Maxwell
6. MS Dhoni
7. Thisara Perera
8. Mitchell Starc
9. Rashid Khan
10. Lasith Malinga
11. Jasprit Bumrah
McCullum as wicket keeper. Dhoni hasn't been anything special in T20s.

Should hate Gillespie more then
Despite being a bowler he denied India 2 almost certain test victories that year through time consuming batting partnerships
1. With Katich at Sydney 2004 , 1st innings (could have enforced follow on )
2. Chennai 2004

Yes but he also helped Ishant rediscover the great bowler within him. So :)

Team of 2019:

Mayank Agarwal
Tom Latham
Kane Williamson
Steven Smith
Virat Kohli *
Ben Stokes
BJ Watling +
R Ashwin
Neil Wagner
Mohammed Shami
Ishant Sharma

Did not pick Bumrah or Umesh despite averaging 13.xx because they only played 3 and 4 tests respectively. Wagner also played only 4 tests but took 4 fivers. Cummins had a good year and his ICC ratings are through the roof but didn't quite have the average comparable to others and only 1 fiver. Also when do I get to pick to Indian Seamers in the team?

Spinners choice was tricky. Lyon seems to have had an average year, same for Jadeja. Rashid Khan has great figures but didn't play strong teams. Settled for Ashwin who found some form in the domestic games.

Rohit Sharma averages 90 for the year, but all of it at home and there are good substitutes available for opener's slot unlike spinner's slot.

Edit: Kane Williamson in place of Marnus Labuschagne
Marnus Labuschagne can replace Williamson in the XI by the time year gets over. Labuschagne is leading run scorer in 2019 as of now.

Bumrah's bowling in WI was fast bowling sorcery of the highest order. Those deadly outswingers from middle to off. I would have him in my team for the year even though he played less. Not caring about stats at least for this.
