Jesus Wagner is taking like 80% of his wickets strangled down the legside, or caught at deep square leg/fine leg/leg slip etc. I know it's a meme and therefore adorable but it's getting a bit ridiculous at this point.

the commentators inadvertently showing how wagnerball works here. both high class players in their day, but if you're only allowed to hook and pull for 10 overs in a row, then it's hard to do so safely for so long. especially with all the full sucker balls looking for drives to short cover.

No the skill is in the subtle changes in length and the skiddiness and the ability to bowl it accurately from large wide angles.

The headline for this match should be Raval holds two catches.

Ponting's commentary has been awful for this session and yesterday.

Whatever it takes!!!
There is a very real chance NZ can do to Aus what SA did to them all those years back when they had their batathon for the draw and then won the series.

Ponting has got good views on the game but unfortunately a lot of his commentary (just like Warne, Ganguly and a few other recently former players) is just him saying what he would have done in given circumstances instead of either a) calling the play or b) trying to figure out what the actual thought process of the guys playing right now is. Mark Waugh is an absolute joker too. They do share the odd pearl of wisdom but its like we will never get back to the 90s Aussie commentary when at least 3 guys tried to remain neutral and fair and balanced.

TBF though, that can describle almost all commentators and coverage in the world. England seems to be some what of an exception to this rule.

Trying to work out what would be the perfect scenario for us here. Think ideally we'd bowl another 12 overs or so without conceding many runs (won't happen but could limit them to 2 an over), so Australia then won't get the second new ball until a bit into tomorrow. Make them work hard all day today in the sun a bowler down without the benefit of a new ball under lights.

Wade has to go. Doesn’t play for them any more, but brings the stench of Victoria to the team

It doesn’t matter. It’s too many as it is, by a lot
