to have not definitively lost 2 days in is basically the best we've done in ages. We're behind but this is better than what any of us expected. Dunno what's up with hendrix maybe he fell out with his harlem.Happens every time Aus play NZ. The kiwi fans get convinced that they are a competitive cricket team "this time" and might challenge Australia, then when it doesn't happen they fall to pieces, psychologically
Yes, and please do it softly, Siddle has cricket to play.Put down the organic vegan friendly fairtrade shard pipe champ
This was me last time we toured.Happens every time Aus play NZ. The kiwi fans get convinced that they are a competitive cricket team "this time" and might challenge Australia, then when it doesn't happen they fall to pieces, psychologically
Oh I'm not saying that this series is decided by any stretch. Just talking historically. NZ have been very impressive with the resources they had available. And fielding first in that heat then having to come out and bat can't have been easy.to have not definitively lost 2 days in is basically the best we've done in ages. Agree. Much as I enjoyed spending 2 days at the Mount watching BJ nurdle leg side singles, it was the snooziest cricket I have watched since watching some one-innings draws at Eden Park in the late 80s. Dobell made a good point....And to be honest, most of this test has been exhilarating to watch. Much better than the snoozefest of Aus vs Pak and NZ vs Eng...
Not sure I'd go that farWas probably a series-winning toss.
His posting a clear sign of why people need meat in their diet.I think it’s great to see a bloke who portrays himself as some sort of higher emotional being reduced to petty jealousies and snarkiness.
Surprisingly subtle from crickets sorta michael chieka hereOh I'm not saying that this series is decided by any stretch. Just talking historically. NZ have been very impressive with the resources they had available. And fielding first in that heat then having to come out and bat can't have been easy.
But I can't see them really coming close to winning the series, and that's ok. The population of NZ is what, like 1/8th of Australia's? Losing isn't necesarrily a failure. It would be like expecting Sri Lanka to beat India.
RidiculousWas probably a series-winning toss. Assuming NZ had batted, and same fast bowler injuries had happened, Aussie would be in big trouble here. Then to Melbourne and assume a flat pitch draw. Then best Aussies can do is square the series at Sydney.
But that's cricket. When England toured in NZ in 2018, if Kane hadn't won the toss in Auckland to allow Boult and Southee to skittle the Poms in a session, rain delays would have meant a draw, then 2nd test was on a flat Hagley pitch so probably a 0-0 series if England has won the toss in Auckland.
So you think 2 quicks + Lyon + part timers would have knocked over NZ quickly on the day 1 pitch?Ridiculous
they haven't won anything. They've had 2 days of moderate success. Loads of time for NZ to outlast them in this test, let alone the series. Was probably a series-winning toss.
Except that Aussie have a wicket taking spinner. And a useful part-time spinner. And probably just enough other part-time options to keep their 2 quicks from being over-bowled. Will take something special for NZ to draw (BJ today? Latham + Kane day 5?).they haven't won anything. They've had 2 days of moderate success. Loads of time for NZ to outlast them in this test, let alone the series.
