What odds would you have gotten on 1 January for a bet on Labu scoring 3 test tons and Renshaw’s fc career being over by Xmas?

The blue eyed devil strikes again!

It’ll be a relief for the entire team. Usually if you put Smith down it’ll cost you 100+. Really need 2 more today.

The way Labuschagne is playing, I don't have much hope of getting him out any time soon. But hopefully now we can chip our way through at the other end. Wade looks shaky af.

Honestly whatever this guy achieves in life is kinda ****ed up by it all being credited to ‘Labooshane’. Like his whole existence is a monument to Aussie racism.
Where were these posts when Mark Waugh was calling him Labooshagnee

Can Smith hurry up and score some big runs again. With his technique runs of form like this make me think he's broken. Just looks so out of sorts.

One is a lot closer to the actual pronunciation than the other?

One has an obvious anglicised pronunciation, the other has an existing South African pronunciation in use in NZ/SA/NZ sporting circles, but is running with a completely made up pronunciation which makes no linguistic sense in the case of this one guy?

You kids have to be winding me up

How is ‘Wagner/Vahgner’ the same as ‘Labooshane/Labooskahgnuh’

Would the South African commentators have even called him ‘Vahgner’ if he was playing for them?

'Labushane' works with a reasonable pronunciation of 'sch' and '-agne' and in 'champagne'. It's not like it's completey ignoring the letters there.

I like to use the correct middle consonant and final vowel, but that's just me.
