And official Moroe suspended by the board.... see how long rest of them last.

And while this has been coming for awhile now, this recent flurry was all because the hubris idiot decided to pull a couple of journalist accreditation because he felt put upon.

https://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/Proteas/breaking-csa-suspends-ceo-thabang-moroe-20191206

"The Board of Directors of Cricket South Africa has taken a decision to put the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Thabang Moroe, on precautionary suspension with pay, effective 06 December 2019, on allegations of misconduct, pending further investigations. The decision to place Mr Thabang Moroe on precautionary suspension follows from the reports received by the Social and Ethics Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board related to possible failure of controls in the organisation.

"During the course of Mr. Thabang Moroe’s precautionary suspension, a forensic audit of critical aspects of the business and the conduct of management related to such aspects shall be conducted by an independent forensic team. In this regard, we urge all our stakeholders including sponsors, members of staff, players, volunteers and cricket fans to allow this process to unfold and we will provide updates on this matter.

"In the interim, the Board of Directors has mandated the Chairman to look at various options including holding discussions with Mr. Dave Richardson, the former Chief Executive Officer of the International Cricket Council (ICC), regarding the appointment of an Acting Chief Executive Officer for the duration of Mr. Thabang Moroe’s precautionary suspension."

Telford Vice having fun.
https://telfordvice.wordpress.com/2019/12/06/sa-crickets-turkeys-vote-for-christmas/

Three CSA board members have resigned, and it’s now up to the rest of them to show why they should be allowed to reinvent themselves and be part of the game going forward. So expect politicking about who is more sinned against than sinning in a saga that still has a way to run before anything like normal service resumes. Not that normal service is particularly normal in South African cricket.

For instance, while all that was happening on Thursday, CSA saw fit to suspend three more staff members. One is acting chief financial officer Ziyanda Nkutu, who has resigned and is serving her notice period. The other two are smaller cogs in the machine than the three heavyweights who suffered the same fate in November, but one of them is the personal assistant to Naasei Appiah, the chief operating officer who was himself suspended last month. Yes, all turkeys tend to look the same, but, please, do try to keep up.

So strictly speaking as an outsider with no clue about the situation: this is good, correct??

Strictly speaking in an ideal world, cleaning of house in this situation is great....but the old caveat the devil you know and all that...

Hopefully decent competent people go in and turn everything around, of course they need to be chosen.

That would be good. I would bat Markram 4, Hamza 3 though.

PS: Not going to drop Bavuma so that team is unlikely to happen.
We should lose this series so probably best to get those who should have been left out a while ago a chance to entrench their not good enough for a strong SA cricket team status.

Then start the official re-build after that with Graeme at the helm.

Pitiful press conference

. No responsibility taken. Nenzani and the remaining board members have no credibility amongst sponsors, players or supporters. Please find a small apartment and move out. Please.

Jacques Faul in as ceo and Graeme Smith expected to sign as director by wednesday. Finally some good news.

No surprise the others didn't hold their hands up and they will probably remain.

CSA President, Chris Nenzani said the CSA members council last night gave the board the mandate to fix the relationship between CSA and SACA.
"As a board we have noted the apology that has come from the CEO and as a board we endorse that apology." - CSA President, Chris Nenzani on the revocation of accreditation of five members of the media.

Even though the board has not fallen on their swords. By giving the CEO to Jacques Faul and Smith as Director it can only be positive. Pretty sure neither will be accepting the positions without clear control and mandates in their contracts.

See if the rest of the board gets pushed out or not long term?

He didn't think much of Faf sending bavuma out to the toss. Called it pathetic on air if I remember correctly.

And it was. It was pathetic and Biff will call it how he sees it.

We finally have somebody ambitious to try build success and will hopefully have the freedom to make sure the best of our tools can be used. If he doesn't he will walk you imagine. But he will need the right support. The whole cricket system/structure will be under his control. Exciting.
