According to "opinionators"

1. Bradman would average 255134671 if he played today
2. Frank Tyson bowled at 110mph
3. Larwood bowled at 105mph
4. Thompson bowled at 120mph
5. Cricket has regressed for 70 years, while all other sports including baseball has progressed.

You really have too much ego invested in players like akhtar Lee and in other circumstances murali. It’s degrades your contributions, usually poor anyway, into utter fatuity.

It's impossible for any bowler to consistently bowl in 150s let alone 160s. That famous Shaun Tait over where he bowled in 150s for example; how often was he able to replicate that? Conversely, Archer really cranked it up in the first game with well over 90 miles deliveries but then he wasn't able to come close in rest of the games.

An express pacer bowls around 145 km with occasional 148-150km deliveries. 160 km is something like once in a lifetime thing. And if any bowler in the history of the game was able to bowl 170 km, we would have seen at least few others who would have come close to that. It's not like we have had a dearth of express bowlers all these years.

Pretty often for a fair chunk of his career tbh. His problem was he sprayed it all over the place most of the time.

Atul Sharma hurled it down at 175kph I'm pretty sure.
I loved the way the broader Indian fan base just lapped up that he was the fastest bowler in the world, despite no one ever having actually seen him bowl.

You can actually calculate that based on the the stage of the bowler's action and the distance travelled by the ball (calculated via measuring circumference of the object in relation to distance of the camera) and of course the players shadows and that's a big woman at the back there isn't it

Look at how thin that stick is. That's gonna vibrate more than your mum's top drawer.

There have been some absurd things posted in this thread, sure. But the mere suggestion that an Indian quick could bowl anywhere near 160, let alone 175, really takes the cake, and takes the piss.

Australia is slowly becoming like the India of old. You guys put a vegetarian medium pacer on the park for 3 of the most important tests of the calendar and your most popular player is a balding skinny fat spinner.

You seems to be bloody serious . . .

Athul Sharma was a bad joke . . .
Rivalled only by "bobs and vegene" jokes.
