The worst I've seen is Clarke in India in that random 2-match series where he didn't actually overbalance or do anything "wrong" at all... just forgot to actually stand in the crease
i couldn't find that on youtube when i searched for it. fortunately i found this video of shane watson saying "you ****ing beauty" at 0:18

**** that's actually great viewing. "i do walk mate just chill"

Reminds me of Geraint Jones getting run out down under in 2006 by standing outside his crease whilst waiting for the umpire to make an LBW decision

Nice bit of work from Johnny Red too. The slomo made it look like he had ages, but in full time it was fractions of a second.
Yeah I'm surprised at how well he made that look. Especially because his keeping has been pretty meh all series.

Wade's big backlift from gully defence is painful. All he needs is one to keep a bit low or nip away and he's ****ed

also hey maybe this is why you bat first when you have the option
Ftfy.

This is an utterly predictable but dire start for Australia. We're left relying on Smith AGAIN for the 7th time this series. Warner and Harris both deserve to be dropped for a year for the disgrace that is their performance here. Bring in Khawaja, Bancroft, Renshaw or bloody Shaun Marsh to open instead.

I'd love to see a stat of "umpire's call" lbws for each team and which way the decision initially went

feels like every time there's been an umpire's call on review the initial umpire's call went England's way, whether batting or bowling

why not? Worked pretty well for Matty Hayden in 2001 in India on much more helpful pitches
hayden was, to quote-paraphrase chris rogers, a monster of a man who was able to use his height to get to the pitch of deliveries that would otherwise be good length to most.

wade is... not.

I've heard he's a monster where it counts

Wade doesn't seem the same class of batsman to Hayden. It just seems the path to holing out for 15 or whatever.
I think the "doesn't seem" is an unnecessary qualification, tbh.

I'm far from big Matty's biggest fan, but he was a few classes above his smaller, even angrier namesake.

this is the dismissal in question btw:

Ojha to Clarke, OUT, Stumped! Clarke doesn't even know he has been stumped. Amazing. He leaned forward to defend and ended up stretching his back leg to the line. And froze there. The ball had dipped and turned past the edge. Very fine delivery that. Clarke just held his position. He didn't realise his back leg was on the line. Dhoni did. Game over! Clarke was stunned to see the Indians celebrate, looks back in horror to see his back leg, then gets a confirmation from the square-leg umpire.
MJ Clarke st †Dhoni b Ojha 3 (17m 18b 0x4 0x6) SR: 16.66

also, i forgot that peter george played that test. i wish i was still forgetting that piece of information
