Appreciate your support Burgey. Im sure ill be banned shortly but I always appreciated your posts.

Apparently, claiming a fact that England were awarded a WC and did not win it is considered Nationalist on here. I refuse to be a part of such nonsense. Rather stand out than follow the blind.

Enjoy the Ashes win mate! Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi
I don't see controversy with this. From what I've seen it's a widely accepted fact, even on here, that England didn't win the World Cup. You probably just rubbed a few head-in-the-sand English supporters the wrong way by reminding them of an unpalatable truth.

I wonder if the mods will prove wrongun correct by banning him, hence confirming the hypocritical silencing of nonconformity

Well I got an infraction for that. Again, lazy moderation because eh who has the time to read through all posts. GIMH and Hanza or whatever his name is were in denial. I refused to cave in, so in order to just hush the situation down some lazy infraction was handed out and I was called a nationalist. Its like a vicious cycle.

The fact is that after tomorrow the Poms will have a winless summer, not having won the WC or the Ashes but they will falsely brag about 'winning' the WC and I dont care to entertain their dillusions. I dont take prisoners.

The open-mouthed expression that Smith does on getting a good nut or like when he got out last night...is that a new development? Is he miming Broad's looking incredulous schtick? (doubt it)

Smith doesn't even have a triple hundred yet are we sure he's any good? Even Karun Nair has one. Against this very team in fact.

Smith vs England in India would certainly be something interesting to watch, tbf. I reckon he's a good chance of Nair-ing it if England rocked up with an attack of Anderson-Archer-Moeen-Leach-Rashid-Stokes and someone could survive at the other end.

How did he go against Jadeja in individual confrontations in India? I can see he got out to him a couple of times, but only after making a ton of runs.

Arrogance has a way of biting people in the ass. I may not be your cup of tea but im upfront and honest. People can survive without the forum, the forum cant survive without people. Make sure you use better examples the next time. And I'm sure that ambitious guy is doing much better than you while you post on a cricket forum.
I'd like to think so but this forum has some dedicated contributors

For anyone wondering this fellow I speak of is sadly not living up his ambitions but rather posting his rants not on a cricket forum like I but instead in the readers feedback section of the Geelong Advertiser.

If he moved up to no. 3, had a bit of a stronger batting line-up around him, and was a lot more selfish he'd probably make a triple hundred every year

I mean you answered your own question there. I wouldn't say he looked unduly troubled by Jadeja given the conditions and quality of the bowling, but "given" is doing a lot of work there.

Yeah, I only ask because that's about the only soft spot I can sense in his game. But conquering Jadeja in India is a giant feat too. That series is two years old now though; wonder if it's an uncertainty, if you can call it that, that's crept into his batting since

Barring one century at Colombo back in 2016 Phatty seemed to have his measure throughout that series, but you could say that for many batsmen who've come to SL in the last 10 years

Yeah Herath is probably the one bowler in the last five years or so who you could say with some confidence got the better of Smith consistently.
