I don't think its going to matter. Looks absolutely woeful and he can't help but chase the ball.Good of Burns not getting out an hour later. I had visions of Roy having to face the new ball
Has a hard leave tooRoy has MMarsh level of hard hands
Is he a brexiteer?Has a hard leave too
Suspect you're right but I'd love to see him tough it outI don't think its going to matter. Looks absolutely woeful and he can't help but chase the ball.
Well playedIs he a brexiteer?
Yeah, he hasn't been great. In fairness Burns played him exceptionally well, I don't think I've seen any LHers cut Lyon as consistently as he did. Cook used to get in trouble all the time trying to do exactly that and he was no slouch against offspin.Lyon has been poo. He's frequently bowling from well behind the crease too, no wonder he's dropping it short.
You'd think that if even if you are trying to keep it tight, it's way, way harder to milk singles on the offside than behind square leg off the back foot as Root is so adept at doingYeah he’s been tidy and hasn’t been smacked around but he’s not threatening enough. Basically do what Ponting is saying. He’s been doing it for so long I figure he’s bowling to a plan to bowl flat and tidy rather than a bit wider and ripping it. Surely he has to toss a few up to Roy here.
Yeah I agree but it’s got to be a plan. He hasn’t tried to toss it up all dayYou'd think that if even if you are trying to keep it tight, it's way, way harder to milk singles on the offside than behind square leg off the back foot as Root is so adept at doing
