What is up with left handers struggling with around the wicket bowling? Not just this series. Is it the drs, where less lbws were given in the past?
Crap techniques, imo. None of these blokes have good balance on the front foot, which that wide-of-the-crease-angle-in exposes

The lefties on display are either woefully out of form (Warner) or not that good. Always loved blokes bowling around the wicket to me because I found the angle easier. Times have changed I guess

Poor defensive techniques partially, with no front foot movement, and the bowlers who are causing the trouble are the ones who can take the ball away from the lefties, emphasised by more bowling friendly pitches recently. I personally think that close to the stumps over the wicket is still the best line, but hardly anyone bowls from the requisite position any more.

Can’t wait til the Oval when we wrap this up 3-1 with Broad the last wicket and the entire side stands there doing that Carry On Up The Khyber facial expression at him. God the man is a cast iron **** of the highest order.

I mean half of this trend has been Stuart Broad, who has practically perfected the technique to do it (to the detriment of his bowling to right handers). I think it might be partially that being left handed is now so common at test level that it is no longer an advantage against the stronger teams (though I suspect it still is against some bowlers and moreso against some teams). Look at guys like Lyon and Ashwin who are way better against lefties.

Now that England has reshuffled their batting order I think it is time to reopen this discussion: Who is the better number 4 - Smith or Roy?

Has anyone else noticed how far off the pitch Wade is standing at the non-striker's end? Nearly off the screen there.

Fun fact. Steve Smith has 455 runs in this series, which is more than Warner, Harris, Head and Wade combined....

I really wonder what Ntini would do to modern day batsman, given how barely any of them seem at all equipped to play a bowler doing something as simple as angling it in from wide on the crease and seaming it away. Bumrah and now Broad.
That’s hardly a simple ball to play
