Labu’s runs once again prove how clueless most of the Australian posters here are when it comes to selections. Have no reason to trust anything you guys say about little known players anymore.

No FC runs - Why’s he been picked
FC runs - ugh now he’s going to force himself into the team something something Langer sucks

Remember when yall hated on the Chris Rogers selection. Would probably be the best opener in the world if he was playing right now.
This is dumb. Quite a few people wanted labu in the team.

I probably wasn't too clear, but I was just trying to explain why the Labuschagne and Pucovski situations really aren't that similar in the first bit of my post

The numbers are just because I was curious and wanted to look it up
ok definitely confused because I wasn't aware were talking about Pucovski at all

What the...apparantly 2 Aussie fans were evicted from Old Trafford.

"It’s alleged the duo shouted “show us your passport” and repeatedly chanted “Barbados” towards Archer."

Above is being labeled as foul mouth abuse and reported to police. Sounds pretty tame after all the abuse Smith and Warner have been getting.
They 100% would have said more that isn't being reported. You don't get evicted for that, that would be absurd.

nah the general consensus was that he should be nowhere near it and his selection was bull****

Was the case before his great run in the county tbh. His inclusion reminds me of the Smith inclusion back in 2013

After he did well in the county, several posters wanted him in

But seriously, Labuschagne should be playing. Is the most used to the duke ball atm
One less left hander too. I was surprised they didn't pick him actually.
Also Labuschagne.

For some reason bloke reminds me of 2013 Smith

Edit- Its not the **** leggies
IMO these few shouldnt be considered total hacks atleast.

I just thought the "gut feel over Shield runs" comment was you agreeing with AT on Pucovski. Sorry if that wasn't the case.

EDIT: that discussion was in the test selection thread anyway

Yeah. Being the literal leading run scorer in his county division in my eyes certainly made him a better candidate than Bancroft at least. Usman as opener could have worked. He might get a crack next test

Kinda weird the words out he has no work ethic if he's being made captain for a tour game right

I think the Aust team to go forward from here on in to the immediate future seem to be getting clearer by the day tbh. As i've mentioned it in another thread the top six should be

Warner
Khawaja
Labuschagne
Smith
Head
Patterson

I dunno how long Paine's gona last. He shouldn't be in this side based on performance but lack of captaincy candidates keeps him in. Carey should come in once it is sorted and then you've got a decent top six

That is definitely the way I am leaning post Ashes too. Warner's form does concern me somewhat, but I certainly wouldn't write him off at all yet

Paine is gonna be our Brearley. Seems a great speaker and well liked bloke. Plus his keepings decent. If he retain the ashes I doubt he's going anywhere just yet

Well yeah, good thing I said most and not all.

From a quick scan

If Labuschagne plays ahead of Patterson, I'm gonna be so pissed off.
****, Labuschagne now scored his 3rd hundred in 4 games + 9 wkts at 34, now guaranteed to be a Langer smokie :(
My boy Labuschagne! The highest wicket taker as well as the top scorer for his team (so far).
clever from the poms. Prepare roads for the crap aussie batters and probably green tops for the good ones to trick us into picking awful hacks like Labushagme for the Ashes
Impressive from Marnus, as mentioned the pitch was pretty flat but he is certainly not the muppet some say he is. Wouldn't pick him in the Ashes squad at this stage, but I can certainly think of worse options
Head is indeed worse than Labuschagne...

As a bowler.
Marnus should bat at four tbh. Can't think of a better option
For your local team?
I don't think Khawaja is going to be right for the first test. It's a bit of an issue for me to have four of your top five lefties in circumstances where it's line ball between your choices, yet at the same time I'd have Patterson over Labuschagne any old day, in which case it's five of six.I'd be tempted to play Burns over Harris, and if Khawaja doesn't make the first test then I suppose Paterson or Wade (if selected) comes in for him. I wonder if they would bat at three or TPC would move up. Interesting choice.

I predict Travis Head to have a surprisingly good series for some reason. I don't know why.
Marsh selection, urgh.

Neser seems weird too.

Disappointing to also see Harris, Labuschagne and Bancroft ahead of Burns and Patterson though I guess you can justify it.

Remember when Langer messed with Renshaw's career by talking him down after a couple of shield failures and talking up Bancroft. Then remember when he messed with his head again after dropping him because he missed a practice match due to concussion?

Langer plays favourites more than anyone I've seen. It's hideous and this current round of selections has his fingerprints all over it. Burns out for Bancroft but Harris remains. Marsh and Labaschagne in based on a bit of county form. It's a joke and he shouldn't be on the selection panel.
Borges and Gob amongst the ones you quoted earlier seem to be some of his supporters.

Absurd including my posts on the matter there. Yes I was a touch skeptical but I certainly wasn't writing him off like some others

So, the only one really calling Labuschagne a hack was TJB and everyone knows he's a moron when it comes to anything related to cricket tbh.

One of my posts was largely sitting on the fence, the other was just responding to TJB and his irrational Head hate.

Obviously I very much resent being called clueless about Australian domestic cricket
