For genuinely quick bowlers, slow-ish, uneven/two-paced pitches pitches are the ****ing worst. Every single short ball seems destined for some part of your body but at completely unpredictable pace off the wicket.Look I’ll be pretty happy if Archer comes on after drinks and just bowls short. The uneven bounce did it at Lord’s, more even than the pace.
Averages ~28 past 4 years.Stokes' bowling average is better than I realised
Definitely didn’t see BradmanThe backfoot predominance stumping the comms, who have apparently never watched footage of a pre-1970 debutant.
While I think, say, Botham has no excuse, we are get towards the point where the only commentators to have seen such players will be the ones who seek footage out, which is not many. The backfoot predominance stumping the comms, who have apparently never watched footage of a pre-1970 debutant.
350 wins it provided they bowl tight imo. Will turn and reverse later on if it goes into days four and five without too much rain, but certainly a good batting deck right now, isn’t itAustralia needs a big score here
Holding was around before Botham tbf, and Gower the same time. But sure, the younger ones don’t often go looking. Watch footage of the blokes like Chappelli and Dougie Walters and they’re all playing those sort of drives off a back foot set up.While I think, say, Botham has no excuse, we are get towards the point where the only commentators to have seen such players will be the ones who seek footage out, which is not many.
