Not sure how we've been this expensive in such good conditions tbh. Losing us the game at the moment though.
Part of it is Warner is just really good at finding ways to score quickly beyond just scoring boundaries, but part of it is bowling too short. Too easy to work runs square of the wicket either side.

Struggled to control the swing.

Quite a few runs from edges though, plus overthrows off the bat, so I don't know if they've been as bad as it looks.

Stokes spraying it around as usual. Getting a fair bit of swing, some great deliveries, but not enough discipline
I can't say I've spotted too many great deliveries from Stokes. Most have been Ok but enough haven't been to keep the board ticking over. He's just been very ordinary with the ball in this series.

Woakes otoh has gone past the outside edge once each over in this spell. It's looking increasingly like Australia's day.

I think someone like Warner (actually just Aussies in general) will appreciate having more pace in the pitch as well. Makes it harder to tie him down.

Not sure all of these decent reasons quite explain going at 5.5 an over though. Broad has to come back I feel.

See all these balls beating the bat look very pretty, but they're never getting anyone out because they're too short. Many of them aren't even particularly close to the edge.

One feels England have been a bit wayward. Desperately missing Anderson. Guess you can't just rock up under clouds and take poles. Takes a bit of skill. Unsure if Australia would've done better though.

Really feels like England have rocked up just sort of assuming that Australia would fold like a pack of cards through no particular effort on their behalf. Doesn't feel like there's much of a plan or consistency of method when it comes to how they want to exploit the conditions.

These overthrows would embarrass a village team. People will look at Woakes' figures and wonder how he's been so expensive, but he's had at least two overthrown fours from brain-dead fielding.

Had that wide where second slip jumped out of the way too. He's not even bowled too badly.

I think this is true. There's been way too much talking up of their chances because of Smith's absence. It smacked of hubris at the time and it's sure looking that way now.
