Can still be an identifiable problem on the batsman's part even if the bowler isn't intending to take a wicket that way.It is unlucky. Unless there’s a leg slip and leg gully it’s an error on the bowler’s part to put it there
That's like saying backing up too far and getting undone by a deflection back at your end is unlucky, it's actually just the risk you run every time you go for the leg glance given the keeper is right where waiting for a deflection that doesn't go far enoughIt is unlucky. Unless there’s a leg slip and leg gully it’s an error on the bowler’s part to put it there
Ponting got out like that quite a few times towards the end of his career. Was always the same core problem; overbalancing and thus trying to play the ball outside the line of your bodyCan still be an identifiable problem on the batsman's part even if the bowler isn't intending to take a wicket that way.
Cook got out like this quite a bit, I think Ross Taylor too? Definitely not unlucky if it keeps happening IMO.
If you get it wide and they make a brilliant diving catch you're unlucky. If it's a thin nick it's a line the keeper could easily have gotten to anyway. Wickets off bad balls are usually due to batting error, funnily enough. It is unlucky. Unless there’s a leg slip and leg gully it’s an error on the bowler’s part to put it there
Well that's kind of why there's so many plays and misses IMO. I don't think Australia have been too disciplined with leaves, but if they were pitching it up we'd be looking at a potential 60 all out.I know I’m slating the bowling side at 30-2 with numerous play-and-misses, but...
England are bowling too short and wide.
Archer is bowling too short. Broad seems to be underpitching outside off and overpitching on leg.I know I’m slating the bowling side at 30-2 with numerous play-and-misses, but...

Wickets are almost always due to a batting error. Getting strangled like that is bad luck. You’re just being an idiot for the sake of being a contrary imbo, surely. Grow up. If you’re really of the view a leg side strangle isn’t bad luck then you know nothing about cricket and you’re wasting your time. But more importantly, mine. And mine is a lot more valuable than yours. If you get it wide and they make a brilliant diving catch you're unlucky. If it's a thin nick it's a line the keeper could easily have gotten to anyway.
