True, but even then 5 an over looked doable and I think Root might've been spooked by what happened against the West Indies. Now there's no way Australia can be agressive enough for long enough without losing 10 wickets.

Surely his point was pretty obviously "don't drop Ali just because he had one bad Test"? Agree or disagree but that seemed pretty plain to me.

Yeah that's fair. I still think the situations are different, Moeen didn't just have a bad Test, he looked mentally cooked.

Well they can't win so it's best to try and see off the first 10 overs and if they survive those none down it looks a lot harder for England to force a result.

Warner just needs to go back to basics though. Whatever he's doing now, it's the wrong approach.

Yeah, no one would've expected that yesterday evening. Obviously Lyon had little luck at times but England's method worked pretty well.

The lefty/righty batting order combo is the most overrated thing in cricket. It's an idea they have taken from baseball, where it has greater significance.
