Burns really should buy a lottery ticket. Seems to have more luck than everyone else put together this series.

Is is just me or is Paine standing really close to the stumps?

I suspect one way or another the Burns thing will turn around. Might not be this series alas, but I just can't see how a batsman can be that lucky for an extended period of time unless it's a case of him being a really aggressive batsman, which really isn't the case.

I remember as a kid when Richie, Chappelli and Tony were commentating...win toss, bat first 99 times out of a hundred, other time, bat

I do wonder if the dryness and lack of pace in these pitches is helping him edge the ball past the slips or along the ground rather than into the slips, but the dropped catches and umpiring letoff are pure luck.

That's about the first shot Buttler has played where he hasn't looked terrible.

I don't really consider edginess pure luck. There's just as much "playing to the conditions" or a "just about right" technique for it to matter. I'm more talking about the dropped catches and the not referred decision.
