Would you say the pitches in a) the last and b) this match so far were flat enough to require Starc? Siddle certainly lacked penetration but I thought that the pressure from the accuracy might have been better than trying to blast them out last match. That said, Siddle's bowled plenty of dross today so far.

That's shite backing up. I wonder who from...
I'm not sure if that's the thinking. Batsmen don't exactly look at Starc and think "great that's the pressure off".

I think it's more that with no all-rounder they're ****ed if someone bowls a spell so bad that they need to be taken off, and they think that's a lot less likely with Siddle.

Bloody hell. We've dropped this wonky-headed, would-be David Brent impersonator twice now. **** him off.

 Burns is gonna be one of those irritating troll openers that everyone hates except the fans of the team he plays for.

Also, Paine is ****.

I do think Archer will be the most dangerous here. While I'll be interested to see how fast he bowls in the long form it's his very upright delivery that is the real danger as it will get more bounce than say, Starc. Although his delivery somehow manages to look even floatier than Starc's, which is some achievement.

That's another bloody dropped catch. We just can't ****ing get Burns out.

His bowling last summer against India said otherwise.

This is unacceptable fielding for the first day of a match.
