1st Test, Edgbaston, Birmingham

Part of me is scared there will be some knee jerk thought process involving repicking Starc due to that Woakes/Broad partnership, with him being the tail terminator and all.
2nd innings is a bowl off for who gets dropped for Starc basically. cos aussies wont like the 1st innings lack of penetration at times.

This day has been fantastic....what dreams are made of. Aussies should crush English souls here at Edgbaston. It’s almost like Poms in 2010_11 at Brisbane with Cook.

A deeper analysis might suggest it was a batsmans wicket after today's play

massive improvement for wade. i thought he was dusted after innings 1. huge heart.
in next series we could potentially see 3 wicketkeepers in the side, 2 as batsman - alex carey deserves a go to see what he has at this level- in the mould of gilchrist so why not. Yes i know should not get picked on ODI form, but in this case it might pay off. He has the X factor and ability to perform in the greatest stage.

Theres a few passengers in the top order(Bancroft, Khawaja). Warner out of form - evident hes not same player that he was pre-ban. Bring in Carey for a trial run.

Alex Carey stars as Sussex win against Somerset to stay undefeated ...

7 days ago - Alex Carey marked his Sussex Sharks debut with a brilliant 78 to set up a 13-run Vitality Blast victory over Somerset at Taunton.

Himannv and Migara are, pretty sure YorksLanka is an expat and I can't even think of any other SL fans who have been around for a while so yeah
The dude that we troll about the Nidahas Trophy, can't remember his username though.

Can anyone explain the pitch block of this ground for me.
1) why wouldn't you center it vertically on the ground? It must be 10m closer to one end than the other.
2) do they ever play games (at any level)
on the outermost pitches? They must only be 20m from the boundary. Or are they practice pitches?

himannv doesn't really show up anymore, migara and randycricfreak shouldn't show up anymore, yorkslanka shows up occasionally and you show up once in a while to report on the weather

still better than the SL team though who regularly fail to show up at all

All the Aussie batsmen seem to have got really good at playing the reverse sweep.
