Its been enjoyable watching 15 overs from a bowling partnership.

Murtagh now has 12/159 in his career.

If anyone ever deserved to be on the Lords Honours board it was Tim Murtagh. He has 296 First Class wickets there and counting. I'm absolutely stoked for the old bastard.

the selection was arrogant but i don't think the coach carries the can for the terrible techniques of his top 3

and this is genuinely quality bowling on a green deck from ireland. they're not numpties. root and bairstow can play.
I think the lack of anyone improving in their red ball batting during his entire tenure as coach suggests he probably can. At least to an extent.

Literally every time I've checked the score we've lost another wicket. Just surreal.
I was in a meeting, came back to the BBC website and it said "England sink to 42/4 against Ireland". I thought "oh wow that's great" and when I clicked through to the scorecard it was 43/7.

Not quite the score I was expecting when I clicked on the BBC to check. Man alive!

Pitch doing a bit, rank bad batting or both?

Always such a gun across multiple versions of ICC, too.
