Warm Up Games

According to Cricinfo, England v SA will be ODI no. 4143, and the last Scotland-SL game was ODI no. 4142. So I don't think the warm ups will be proper ODIs.

There's still betting on them available so I assumed they were ODIs
Exactly. I had doubts because of the same reason. But like Howzat has mentioned below, looks like the betting is happening for unofficial games now, which is quite farcical.

Amla and Markram opening together for South Africa - a shoot out for who's going to partner De Kock at the top of the order?

Good for Amla. We will need to be competitive in the batting options and 9 games are a lot.

Andile more reliable than JP and Dave. Would be massive for us if he can have a big world cup.

This is somehow going to convince the powers that be to play Morris/Pretorius alongside Andile.

Would be suicide playing both Phehlukwayo and Pretorius on these pitches.

Would be starting Morris in Steyn's place until he is fully fit.

Playing Morris is fine if Steyn is still recovering, but still don't like the idea of having to play 2 of Andile, Pretorius and Morris.

Ngidi continuing to take wickets, good to see. I think his back of a length bowling is just awkward for most batsmen. Combined with surprising pace.

While he hasn't played that many ODIs, so it's not a particularly big sample size, he actually has the best strike rate of all the South African bowlers. Understandably, most of the pre-tournament focus has been on Steyn and Rabada, but it's entirely possible that Ngidi will have a better tournament than either of them.

Agree. A little cheeky outside bet for leading world-cup wicket-taker.
