I only caught the end of the United game, but it struck me Pogba was playing with some urgency. But then someone who seemed to be a United fan (in a Liverpool pub interestingly) started criticising Pogba which struck me as a bit selective given the bit I'd seen. Is that fair or was he genuinely playing poorly?
Pogba's one of those players whose detractors will never give him credit for anything.

Was probably their best player

Surrounded by muck and coached by a novice lets not forget . I know Uppercut thinks they should sell and I get that somewhat as he would command a pretty fee, but I am skeptical of Woodward using the funds wisely to replace United's most creative player.

I also think Pogba can be an easy target especially for guys like Neville who would not call out fan favorites like Rashford and Lingaard for fear of backlash despite them been inferior to Pogba. He probably goes to Madrid in the Summer and Bale who will cost a fortune in wages, be injured all the time goes the other way. 8-)

Six days of shitting myself ahead

Play-offs are like a crazy woman, you’re so excited to be with her but there’s always the chance that she might just kill you. And that’s what makes her so exciting. Well here’s the new twist, she’s a vegan so now I’m killing her.

Wait, what? Up the ****ing whites
I hope Bielsa closes the deal on getting us promoted. He's keeping his honour on everything else

Looking at the much younger, better-run teams just behind us and wondering if we’ll even make the top 6 next season. Wolves and Leicester are no worse than us even now and feel like they’re on the way up.
Heh, you guys are as shite as we are. Battle of the Bowel Movement Clubs.

I think Arsenal have been better than us this season, but I also think their squad is in even worse shape. United are terrible but there are a few players in there that are worth something. I look at Arsenal and the only player I would want is maybe Toreira? They’re all either getting old or not good enough. The only positive feature of their season is that the ghost of Arsene Wenger has occasionally compelled them to put some good attacking play together when Emery accidentally picks the right team.

It’s got nothing to do with how good a player he is though. I thought he was our best player yesterday too.

Basically we need a long-term reconstruction of the squad, and Pogba won’t sign another deal at United so there’s no point doing it around him. If we were on the verge of challenging for something then I would want us to hold him for a year, but we’re not. There’s just no upside to keeping him.

Danny Welbeck is out of contract and leaving at the end of the season. I know that injuries have been a problem, but I'd gladly take him at Palace.

I feel like Emery will get Arsenal over the line in the EL and rescue their season. At any rate, I feel more optimistic about their future with him in charge as opposed to latter-day Arsene (legendary though he was).

I can't believe that Spurs will finish 4th despite losing 5 out of 8 games since I confidently predicted they wouldn't.

**** sake Arsenal.

Arsenal about where they belong at the moment. Comfortably the 5th best team in the league this year, but no better than that.

They could finish 3rd which might be a bit of a record. I don't know and can't be arsed to look it up, but finishing 3rd with 13 defeats sounds like it ought to be a record.

Quick question Furball: do you think Celtic will end up with the 10 in a row? With eight down, it's got to be on the minds of Rangers fans surely?

Guendouzi imo

The Arsenal squad is grim though. Having gone through it, I would probably break down the squad into keep/get rid as follows.

Keep: Leno, Koscielny, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Xhaka, Torreria, Auba, Laca, Holding, Bellerin, Mavro, Iwobi, Maitland-Niles, Ozil, Guendouzi.

Get rid: Lichtsteiner, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal, El Neny, Mkhitaryan, Jenkinson.

Genuinely unsure about Ozil. Love him, but not really sure how much there is left to get out of him. Many of those in the "keep" bracket only get in there because adding them to the "get rid" bracket would leave a huge hole in the squad.

Have to hope that Nelson, Smith-Rowe and Willock turn out to be good I guess.

Really hard to have any positivity about Arsenal's future at the moment tbh. The reports on the supposed transfer budget and the actual players we're being linked with aren't encouraging at all. When Aubameyang turns 30 we're going to effectively not have an edge in any aspect of the squad or club structure.

All depends what they do this summer. Rodgers hasn't exactly left whoever takes charge a healthy squad.
