Is it still worth a listen? Haven’t given it a go since James Richardson and co left.
I still like it the most of all the podcasts the English papers do, but it can get up its own behind sometimes. Though it'd hardly be the Guardian otherwise.

Haha I just listened to this. Very odd segment no doubt, but I think he was taking the piss.
He was, in that he was trying to make a point by taking it to extremes, but IMO his point is a stupid one anyway, so he doesn't get a pass from me.

Not listened but it's a particularly weird comparison because Walcott was a poacher who was very useful alongside creative players but almost never created his own shots through individual skill. Creating his own shots is the main thing Messi has done better than literally anyone else. Ronaldo of recent seasons (minus heading ability) is more a guy you could, in an extreme example obviously, compare to a someone like Walcott.

His point was that Messi had never had to work on anything, that he is just naturally good, like Walcott is naturally fast. It was stupid either way. As was Bandini's 'why can't he do it all the time' and he 'sometimes he goes missing' which is just ridiculous. Bandini is usually good as well.

I really like James Richardson but think it has improved since he left, they had to respond and think they went and got better guests. It still mostly depends on if you like Barry Glendenning doing his thing though, which I do so its fine by me.

The split also meant that we got Golazzo which might be my favourite football podcast of the lot.

Yeah I love Golazzo as well. So much nostalgia. Although it's really made me miss Serie A on BT.

Christ, two reds? If Bournemouth don't win with a two man advantage, I'll fear for them next season.

I know no one cares about anything outside the Premier League. But I think I had the most bizarre day ever in the relegation from League One of my team (Plymouth). As always on these days we were staying up one minute and going down the next. Southend scoring against Sunderland 5 minutes from time sent us down. Gutted. A possible trip to Fylde next season. Not so back to square one as square nought. S****horpe’s second goal was a thing of beauty if you can be bothered to check it out.
Having said that, you can keep winning the Premier League every year - days like these are great once they’ve been forgotten. :D

This ref is a bit of a disgrace tbh, allowing Mane to be booted in the head in the box and then not sending TAA off. They’ll all make mistakes but surely shouldn’t be employing someone who’s so openly too cowardly to apply the rules.

Edit: my bad, apparently if a goal is scored TAA can’t go off. That’s wild, Atsu made a big mistake not deliberately missing.

Can't imagine it was on his mind in the split second he had to decide tbh.

If I remember correctly, Liverpool fans insisted kicking someone in the head is not a red-card offence, so it's alright.

To think there were people wondering if Benitez would "do Liverpool a favour". Just conveniently forgetting he's a football manager who likes to draw if not win.

That red dot on Flashscores is iconic. I hope OS will accept it's even more famous than the stupid dot NDTV like to brag about.
