Must really have been a case of the numbers not reflecting much because he conceded 50 in 5 without taking a wicket. Saying that, I didn't watch a single ball and it seems they've picked him purely on potential.

Honestly reckon we'd be close to WC favourites in non-English conditions.

You look much stronger now and I'm surprised how well the Aussie batsmen have been playing spin in these last 5-6 matches. Strike rotation etc. has improved quite a bit.

Also, I think Pakistan will also probably be much better in English conditions.. they've been poor in ODI cricket in UAE for a while now and got spanked in the Asia Cup last year. Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, Shadab Khan etc. will strengthen them but the bench strength doesn't look too good on the evidence of this series.

Shinwari's been around for a while though, just hasn't been very high in the selection stack until recently.

Hasnain's fast but he's got a long way to go to make an international bowler. I think Rauf and Musa Khan might end up better, they've got more consistent actions.

But yeah after these two 70s at better than a run a ball when everyone else could barely strike at 75 he's now nearly the first name on the team sheet. The icing that his bowling and fielding looks a lot better with some cake/runs to go with it

That's actually his 5th dismissal in the 90s to go with his lone 100 in this format. All have been a different number too. 92, 93, 95, 96 and now 98.

If he had not been run out and made it to his 100, even though it would have come in likely 83 balls it would have been his slowest white ball international ton by a huge margin. His 3 t20international and 1 ODI ton all came at a ridiculous rate, the slowest was scored in 58 balls
