Considering how much they’ve been able to trust the bounce and that the ground is a postage stamp, Pakistan struggling with the wood in this game is a mystery.

I guess. Overall record in ODIs nothing to write home about

Edit. Actually check his last stint in the ODI team. I took your word for it but it's dreadful.
using the date range 01/04/15 to today, Wade's last stint is actually worth writing about. For most of the stint, he was batting at number 7, which smrt posters (me) have posted about before as being a batting position that we tend to expect more than the actual expected performance. Wade's average of 34 at 7 in his recent stint is basically top of the list of the all the number sevens used post the 2015 WC (minimum 10 innings) and it was a very dumb move to drop him for Tim Paine

This innings highlights Pakistan's batting woes. Just not good enough. Not enough fire power.

Rizwan needs to change his tactic against spin. This cutting thing just isn't working. Malik is looking much more fluent.

I'd argue those scores only reflect the cynical nature of the position. plus those numbers doesn't give any indication to how many overs were left in the innings when he came in.

in any case he wasn't actually dropped because of said performance anyway, but because australia prefers to have the same keeper in the test, ODI and T20 teams (as shown by the back and forth between Wade and Haddin during 2012-2014) and with Paine in the test team, he came across to the ODI team (They never picked Nevill in the OD team, but he did appear at a T20 WC). with the added responsibility of captaincy for Paine, they've ceased with having the same keeper in all formats for now, but that's why he got dropped and it was silly

Goddamn letting Stoinis get away with just 3 runs conceded is criminal at this stage.

This is a good example of why ODIs can be so dreadful

30 overs of average spin, some overs from a medium pacer and the batsmen just knocking it around according to the fielding restrictions

I say we remove those boring middle 30 overs. First ten and last ten definitely the most exciting time

if the icc would simply listen to me and remove over restrictions
