Ugh this has been a rough series, completely destroyed by India. Not really hopeful for the WC after this show, getting to the SFs will be overachieving.

Phillips didn't look international standard the few times I saw him play.

.
I've seen enough of Phillips in the CPL to have no doubt he'd be up to it. Even though it's apples and oranges, he did dominate some top quality bowlers.

Ffs, at no stage in this series has NZ been ahead. India having the foot on the throat from ball 1 continues.

Munro's time is up, but Guptill is a huge worry. We need him to be piling on big runs if we're to stand any chance at the world cup. Right now he's looking like a walking wicket.

Either bump Latham up or bring Young in, but something needs to change, we can't keep being 20/2 off 5 in every game we play.

I'd move Kane up to open and maybe have Neesham or Nicols at 3. I think Neesham and Bracewell should play in our best XI.
Why Bracewell when he's not even close to one of our best bowlers? Just because he scored a meaningless 50, not under pressure when we got thumped on Saturday?

Would it kill to see some positivity from NZ for once against the big teams? At this point I would rather see them go and bash it aimlessly...

For me it's more just that if they wanted Guptill to be the hitter they should've gone for that months ago. He's perfectly capable of it, but messing with his role so close to a WC is a bit of a risk for such an awesome and important player. Sometimes taking risks is the right call, but it's certainly a risk all the same.
They just couldn’t have done a worse job in planning for this World Cup. All these things should have been trialed last year.

Ooh Munro's innings sounds impressive.

Nicholls to open for the next two matches please (Neesham at 6), or else Will Young. Not Phillips, don't move Williamson up, don't move Latham up and definitely not Worker.

He's looked pretty decent the few times I've seen him bat since his return.

Not like he'll be keeping out any gun bowlers, Henry and Southee can all get smashed and don't offer as much with the bat.
