Hardly. England have lots of flaws. That 3 of our stronger batsmen are FC wicketkeepers isn’t one of them, yet it’s relentlessly trotted out.Lazy not reading NZTs next post where he corrected himself.

Reminds me of one of the fools on here who once created a thread about being ordinary away and batting for a draw.nothing worse than stacking the batting (or bowling) and getting murdered in that department anyway.
No doubt the Holder/Dorwich partnership was a fantastic one. When they came together WI had a lead of 332, the game was hardly in the balance! Had their partnership been 0, WI would have won the game! Anyone that goes on to score a double hundred, then maybe their MOM award is justified, but I’m not sure it was Test defining. Its interesting to say what the biggest issue is as Holder just got man of the match because of his amazing batting performance which might not have happened if England had of picked a better bowling attack.
Im focusing on the bowling because there are better options and Id rather see the best bowling lineup chosen instead of seeing a worse bowler picked to help out the batting because it just looks bat when thay guy fails with the bat.
Not sure anyone suggested he didn’t, the only point being his double ton, as fantastic as it was, was probably made at a point where a duck would have seen the same outcome, and that’s not hindsight, that was fairly clear at the time.Holder pretty obviously deserved the MOTM. To go with his double ton he took two top order wickets in the first innings including Root.
I kind of suggested it was up for debate. Not sure anyone suggested he didn’t, the only point being his double ton, as fantastic as it was, was probably made at a point where a duck would have seen the same outcome, and that’s not hindsight, that was fairly clear at the time.
People are getting a little too obsessed with the concept of downhill skiing. If he got 0 and England only had to chase 350, yeah Windies are still big favourites. But there would certainly be 3 possible outcomes. Removing the chance of a windies loss makes them valuable runs. Especially considering he got them quick enough to allow his side over 6 sessions to bowl England out.Not sure anyone suggested he didn’t, the only point being his double ton, as fantastic as it was, was probably made at a point where a duck would have seen the same outcome, and that’s not hindsight, that was fairly clear at the time.
