Why wont they rest Starc and Cummins. Aren't they both going to play in the WC? Doesn't seem worth risking injury to the two of them.

Lyon's in the ODI mix too apparently, and he's bowled so much this summer already.

I don't think it does australia much good at the moment to rest key players. They need to stomp Sri Lanka to get some confidence back and erase the bad taste of losing to a subcontinent team at home.

How glorious it'd be if they lost to Sri Lanka as well. Losing to two Asian teams for the first time in their history, in one summer. :)

Replace Labu with the Angry Ant and you have a fairly solid batting line-up. Man, I can't believe I'm advocating the return of the Angry Ant.

Of course, Maxi is a better option than Patterson, but Patterson deserved his shot when the nod was given to Maddinson instead.

They will still rank a test series ahead of the WC when it's so far down the track at this stage

here's the team, laugh with me too

Harris
Burns
Khawaja
Labuschagne
Head
Patterson
So these 6 have 66 Tests between them, with Khawaja having 39 of them (or other 5 have only 27 Tests between them

I'd like to laugh but it's just to depressing :(

Maxwell is rapidly becoming the most overrated cricketer on this forum
what harsh said. It's a result of his treatment by selectors. No one thinks he's the Lara, but when you're, say Jimmy Adams but you're being treated like Ricardo Powell by selectors then it stands out.

It's also really hard to know just how good he is at this stage when he hardly seems to get given a decent run at anything

ffs Pucovski missed out and Labuschagne still in the team. What a joke.

At least Richardson is playing and not Siddle. Siddle and Labuschagne both playing in the Test team would have probably driven me over the edge.
