It's a terrible bit a logic that gets used way too often. If the original selection was flawed there's no justification in continuing it for... continuity purposes.

Strangely both of these were true.

Both shorter than I imagined.

Patterson is nailed on to make a score batting six against the Little Lankans. He should be at four imo, and Marnus left out, though it doesn't surprise me they've persisted. They obviously see something in him which I haven't yet tbh. Anyway, hope he goes well too.

It would actually be awesome if the younger brigade did well enough here that the Pillow could be dispensed with once and for all. I've come to the conclusion Khawaja is basically Australia's Mark Butcher - he'll always be remembered for that one memorable knock, but when push comes to shove he just isn't up to it, is mentally soft and should be euthanised as soon as possible once Smith and Warner are back.

Checks and balances. When one vice captain gets the urge to tamper with the ball, the other can intervene. Kinda like the Great Triumvirate, but with less intelligent people.

Apart from Labuchimp it looks all right doesn't it? Burns isn't a bad recall, don't think he did much wrong to be dropped.
