You cared about a JAMODI tri series?
Before inundation by t20 games, I cared about pretty much all ODIs except against minnows. All teams sent full strength teams to play what are retrospectively, and might I say smugly, referred to as JAMODIs here. In one of those tours to Pakistan in mid 00s, I would consider it an even result if we lost test series but won ODIs.

T20s spoiled limited over cricket completely.

I found that interview with Hick to be incredible in that he seems so hands off with the batsmen he is supposed to be coaching.

Example, JL and selectors talked to Pete about his crease location but it's up to him how he wants to bat

In regards to question about Cummins improvement....yeh Pat went away and worked on his batting and came back with more shots

In regards to Harris....he's really low maintenance and just does his own thing
Perhaps Hick is deliberately taking such an approach to sabotage us.

Hilarious that people want to drop Uzi when Darsh is still hanging around stinking up the joint. Senior batsman my arse. Yet another series he should never have played. Odds on he will go on the Ashes anyway.

I guess I missed all the posts from the Aussie fans complaining about the pathetic strike rate of their batsmen.
I was a bit shocked after lunch to see that Lubbershane had faced 71 balls for 22 without me even noticing. I don't mind a grind but the inability to find singles and tendency to play hard shots straight to fielders (very noticeable in the BBL) is damn irritating. You need to time it into the gaps and work the spinners with good footwork, not stand and whack it.

Darsh needs second innings runs if he's to survive to Sri Lanka. Even then it might be time to move on.

I'll give Usman a pass as his preparation had to be severely disrupted. Hopefully he does well against Sri Lanka.

Happy to go on record as saying that I don’t want either Warner or Bancroft back

They lost the ****ing plot and that’s the nicest spin anyone can put on it

First batsmen chosen should be a lock and are Harris, Smith, Burns and Head (potential)

Uzi is on the next rung down next to Maxwell, the comb (ugh), Renshaw, Curtis, etc

He needed to stand up this summer and has been ****

Safe to say the series is in India s bag. Would love 3-1 scoreline though.. reflects the reality (although should have been 4-0 with a bit of toss luck at Perth)
As opposed to the toss luck in Melbourne and Adelaide (far less so here).

They’ve both been woeful. Marsh is older but Khawaja the more established, senior pro in a cricketing sense, and the only good thing he’s done this series was catching Kohli in the gully in Adelaide.

They both need to pay the price for the worst performance in Australian cricket history. One at which they’ve been in up to their long, long necks.

I suspect that following the sandpaper debacle they are extremely gunshy about doing even the generally accepted methods of roughing the ball up a bit.
According to one of the papers this morning

" The team were told in the UAE the side was under scrutiny, and the umpires have told the players they cannot suck mints when shining the ball or throw it into the pitch from the outfield.

In Shield cricket there has been a crackdown on methods of obtaining swing. "

Yeah, we have been a bit lucky with the tosses for a change. Would take it with both hands though. This is a historic first triumph in Australia. Will never be expecting to win 4 tosses though. Kohli is no Root.

I'm seriously starting to doubt the likely entertainment value of staying up all night to watch the rest of this game.
I was watching some of it live as I have a flu so not been able to sleep well. It was worth it for Kerry O'Keefe describing Shami's seam "straighter than Fred Nile". I googled Fred Nile and it seems he is a very conservative and religious Australian politician who is anti gay rights.

EDIT: Apologies if my rapid googling has me mistaken here.
