*Official* India Tour of Australia 2018/19

International Vice-Captain
Shaw and Agarwal (with Dhawan as backup) should be the way to go imo. Dhawan adds a lot of value in Asia. Hopefully Shaw settles in and plays a fair bit before our next round of overseas tours.

Rahul looks mentally shot. I think his best case in the future is to replace Rahane in the middle order. Both have been duds tbh.

Vijay is finished. Thanks for the memories of 2014.

Is there a compelling reason that they didn't schedule a test match at the Gabbatoir?
They did, it's against Sri Lanka later this month. They have a system of ranking each ground, and between the AO upgrades and the new stadium in Perth, the Gabba is only ranked 5th now.

Dhawan has his uses in that he can force a result on flat SC pitches with his quick batting - so he's a good backup to have in Asia.
Is his strike rate in Tests really all that impressive? Seems to me that he potters around quite a bit but the rep from that debut 180 has followed him since.

Mitch Starc and associates overdid the short pitched stuff in the morning and were a spent force for the latter part of the day. Just wasted the second new ball.

Having just seen the highlights, it's good to see Labuschagne's bowling was so very test match quality.

RIP Australian cricket. 1886-2018. Here lie the ashes of a once proud cricket nation. Destroyed by their own hubris at the belief that the moral superiority gained by pointlessly banning two star batsmen was better than actual results.
