I just want to listen to Ricky Ponting talk to someone smart for an entire session or innings. A whole match preferably.

Stoinis opening is such a common sense move it really makes you wonder why it took this long. Either him or Maxy have to open. And the other bat 3.

I really don't trust the speed gun at all this BBL. Medium quicks are bowling 140, and a lot of fast bowlers are apparently hitting 150+ with ease.

BARNES OUT
in all seriousness i've always found him a highly overrated commentator by the broader cricketing public
He was good in the beginning like 15 years ago but his head is so far up his own ass now it's pretty hard to listen to. He's still okay compared to many others but his schtick has worn very thin.

Jeez McCullum batting at number 4 and scoring 8 off 13, possibly 1 season too long for the Heat. Also vindicates the IPL sides passing on him.

Sorry but what outside that excellent 140 odd vs. NZ in a losing cause has Stoinis ever delivered?

He's averaged 42 and struck at 100 while being a surprisingly useful death bowler

Been a success in ODIs really

Warner
Finch
Stoinis
Smith
Maxwell

I like that top 5, only issue is the other batsman they'd pick would probably be someone like Short, Khawaja or Smarsh and not sure they'd be any good at no. 6, so that's why Stoinis & Maxwell are more likely to bat lower down.

Fair enough, I thought that 146* might have been very instrumental in his average being north of 40, but I see he's actually played over 20 matches in all. His bowling record is very ordinary though, averaging over 40 with an ER over 6s.

he was over 60 until he flunked some wickets against the south africans so it's getting better
