A cheat is a cheat

Amusing to me that generally if a claim (or referral is asked for) on a bumped ball the assumption is the fielder 'knew' and was taking a chance and cheating.... I'm not sure why that is but it is a happy affection in cricket.
Well once again if Waugh “knew” it was a bumped ball then so must have Matthews and in so knowing, would not have motioned for a referral.

I don’t care. You said he knew. Where is your proof? A confession? A confidence betrayed and leaked? How do you know he knew? How do you know Matthews didn’t?

It is 31 years to the day since umpire Dick French robbed NZ of a Melbourne Boxing Day test victory (McDermott plumb to Morrison). Earlier in the test Greg Dyer cheated with a dropped catch he claimed off Andrew Jones. I was just a kid but remember it vividly.

It’s good there were two incidents in that match, as it fits with most Kiwis having a chip on both shoulders.

Ha yeah. Remember that time when MacCallum ran out Murali who was congratulating Sanga for his hundred? What a sleaze. Another 30 runs from a blazing Sanga may have been enough for a SL win.

Turns out McCullum spent some of his formative time as a cricketer with the NSW team in the early 2000's.

He did it in this game too, to Mpofu celebrating with Mahwire. It was even less necessary here given NZ were an innings and 46 runs ahead, Zimbabwe only had one wicket left and Mpofu was one of the worst Test #11s of all time.

I just found it funny how series only had 3 odi's between Aus and India each one involved atg incidents of cheating. Things that if they happened now would be spoke about for months or years and would tarnish a players reputation for good.
Gilbert picking the ball out the crowd then throwing it back and telling the umpire he prevented the boundary x 2
Waugh getting a massive edge and the ball deviated about 6 inches and just stood there (Not too bad, many people do this and wasn't nowhere near as bad a broad) but it would still be a huge talking point.
Waugh picking the ball up off of the floor then jumping up pointing it towards the sky and running in to celebrate.

Not just digging out Aus here but just watching this series last night made me think if there is that many blatent things in a small series then how much else was going on in the days before the cameras

Tbf though the umpiring seemed very legit there were close lbws and runouts that could have gone either way but the home umpires didn't favour aus

LOL at Burgey still holding up solitary Dhoni bumped catch example to show other countries cheat too. He's been doing it for like 5 years.

Aussies don't only cheat, they then abuse the batsmen for not believing their word. LOL at that expectation given their history. Hard but fair. Hahaha

what i learnt here is that steve smith was only following the many examples of other famous captains when he cheated
