Harsha Boghle currently going through every Indian player and telling us which languages they do and don't speak, and how it might cause communication problems.

The fact they've all got precisely the same facial hair would indicate they all communicate with each other just fine.
Bhogle's talking nonsense. Almost everyone in the team speaks Hindi.

For a guy who hasn't scored a first class century in a decade he's been extremely solid with the bat as well.

I'm a bit behind, but what was with the controversy with the Kohli/Handscomb catch? Seemed to pretty clearly have fingers under the ball and didn't look like there was much doubt yet every social media article is filled with Indians complaining about "cheating Aussies"

re. Paine's batting, he's definitely solid but it takes him so ****ing long to score any runs. Great for trying to draw games, or stay in games when you're well behind, but it's not ideal for pushing for wins or front-running. It's not like it's a case of him not being in an opportunity to bat more aggressively either, he's very slow regardless of the game situation.

Top session for Australia. Although India never let Australia get away. And that's important because they want to push any declaration as far back as possible.

That's a very good session for Australia. Can see them batting normally for an hour or so after lunch til the lead gets up over 260, then pressing on a bit. Would love to see Paine make a big score. he's been the most assured of our batsmen in the game.

He's also a deceptively hard ****. You just know that once Kohli had a tanty at him he was going to dig in as hard as he could. Stubborn bastard.

You really have to be to have come back from the kind if injury he's had.

So a year ago he was considering retiring and grinding out a living as a regular Joe. This last year will set him up for life with endorsements, book and movie deals and commentary gigs. It's been a life-changing 12 months for the guy and honestly it couldn't have happened to a better bloke.

Huh that definitely doesn't look as clear as I thought it was, I can understand some one-eyed fans getting triggered when they see a photo like that. Really doesn't match up with the video though, where it looked like there were clearly fingers under the ball. Weird how different angles and mediums can look so different.

He's definitely won me over. Sure his batting's been decent (in Tests) and he's shown great fight, but it's his keeping that has been truly impressive. Not sure if many (or any) other current keepers in the Test teams are up to his standard.

Think a Tim Paine ton would kill Spikey?

Paine was always one of the better pure glovemen in the country. His keeping didn't fall off a cliff in the same way as his batting post injury

Well this has gone pear shaped for us hasn't it? At least they haven't really got on so I doubt they'll have enough to feel secure about putting us in too soon. Maybe an hour long burst before stumps.
