With these catches the more you freeze it , zoom it n slow it down the more not out it Looks even if it isn't.

Yea kohli likes it though it generally.seems like soft signal is a pointless thing if the umpire himself doesn't m know whether the fielder caught it or if it was a bump ball.or something which he would only know after seeing a replay.

the soft signal was always a cheap trick that tacitly acknowledged the fact that a 2D frame-by-frame projection of a 3D situation where perspective is impossible to obtain is an objectively worse way to judge these situation that humans with eyes

yeah that's why I hate the soft call but what can you do. I think this one looked a bit more dubious than most of the ones you see like this, but it's not being over-turned after the soft call

the commentary mentioned the SA series from 2008-09 which iirc is where it got really egregious. there were like half a dozen perfectly clean catches ruled not out (from both sides) because the third umpire confused themselves by endlessly looking at 1fps replays from dubious angles
