It reminds me a bit of the end of Gambhir's Test career, where a series or two out of the side would make everyone forget his recent more showings and remember him more as the player he was earlier in his career.

I kept getting suckered in by this Gambhir Effect myself so I'm trying hard not to fall for it again.
Yeah I got suckered in for Vijay hoping he'd show some of what he did in 2013-15, mainly because there are just no good replacements. And tbf to the selectors, I dont think he'd have even played if Shaw hadn't gone down.

Dhawan in for Vijay? Assuming Shaw is still hurt
This is what I would have done before the first test and its what I would do before the third test.

Although, ive read that Shaw is a good chance to be back for the next Test.

Either way, this should be Vijays last Test.

Good to see the Aussies pitching up the ball. India took forever to figure that out.
Ridiculous, wasn't it? As long as I can remember, analysts have been telling bowlers going to Perth to pitch the ball up and not get carried away with the bounce. No excuses to bowl like duffers in this day and age.

Umpire picks up a Starc no ball but they miss 20 plus from Ishant. Sounds legit
He would have done Ishant a favor by picking up more no balls. Might have fixed it earlier if it kept on being called. Because the wicket ones were always going to be reviewed.
