I think India have a decent chance here, backing Kohli to play a blinder.
Starc immediately starting off too wide.
And no, near 29 is not a good average for a strike bowler. Especially when first change is much better.

He had 4 hundreds and just one "fifty" at one point. Was looked at as a rocks or diamonds kinda player. Then he went through the Root phase of getting to fifty and not being able to convert (10 "fifties" in a row).
Now he's evolved into a player who can't do either of the two.

Absolutely zero confidence that these two will survive even if Starc and Hazelwood bowl crap. Chepu-Kohli-Rahane are going to have to do the bulk of the scoring for India to have a shot.

parts of it were correct (he does often strike early and I don't know what people are watching if they don't know this, and he's always been quicker to get criticism than other other fast bowlers, same as MJ's bad bowling always got pointed out before Hilf or Siddle's bad bowling) but on the whole he's just far too cheerleadery. not a big fan of C7's main commentator (Ricky Ponting) basically being a consultant for the Aus team in between these test matches either but it seems I expect a level of non-partisanship that's unrealistic...

It reminds me a bit of the end of Gambhir's Test career, where a series or two out of the side would make everyone forget his recent more showings and remember him more as the player he was earlier in his career.
I kept getting suckered in by this Gambhir Effect myself so I'm trying hard not to fall for it again.
