lmao Paine what are you doing.

Pick four seamers but delay taking the second new ball to keep Vihari on, and Vihari almost picks up a wicket. Lol.

It like you haven't watched them bat. They could do the job they just throw it away. They have the talent but not the discipline.
Please don't make me explain yet again that discipline is talent and not just the ability to hit the ball. You can't be a talented Test match player if you lack the mental ability to put together big scores - not possible.

Yeah so they are good white ball players, anyone who thinks a range of shots means basically anything in Tests is laughable.
I think you're getting Shaun Marsh seriously wrong. He's a different kind of player to Maxwell. He's not purely a good shotmaker, he does know how to build an innings. It's just starting that's his issue, I don't think his ability to play soft shots when set is any better or worse than most Test players.

it's a lot easier to learn how to construct a big innings than it is to get better hand eye coordination to be fair

He’s looked brilliant tbh. Shows what happens when a new player makes a score and doesn’t feel under pressure for his place.
Even in white ball cricket, he's always looked better to me when he's not trying to force it too much. He's a good enough natural strokeplayer to play each ball on its merits.

yeah he definitely loses his shape a bit when he tries to absolutely thrash the ball

Yeah that's probably true, Marsh isn't actually a terrible Test player/has had an ok career. He is more meme than anything.

I agree with whoever said earlier that 320-330 could well be formidable batting first on this.
