Man India are going to regret wasting the new ball in the first hour. They've been tight since then it seems, and the pitch has gotten friendlier to bowl on. A good first hour and Aus might have been, like, 160/5 now.
Thankfully Australia played a bunch of daft shots to bring things back to parity. Throwing away their own advantage of having a strong start on a somewhat unpredictable surface.
It'll be interesting to see how the pitch plays as the game progresses. You've got people thinking it will flatten out, and others thinking it'll just get worse from here. Australia's bowling will be impossible to face if it keeps this kind of pace and inconsistency, so I hope it does flatten out. Especially given our useless tail.
Lol at Vihari bowling unplayable deliveries. He's so tame. Jadeja would have been awesome here - we're now back into a holding mode waiting for the second new ball when we could be attacking with a spinner.
Need a wicket from somewhere, let's hope Shami reverses one of these two out. Get Aus 6 down by close of play, keep them under 300 tomorrow, and hope Kohli and Che put can ton up on an easier pitch. That has to be the plan.
But realistically SMarsh will ton up here before the tailenders pile on another 150. Aus 500/8 dec, India blown on for 26, Cummins taking 8/3
