Been a brilliant game, especially for a test in the UAE.

It's been a great series - obviously some result bias on my part - but, good pitches that are neither too flat nor too random, and assistance for good bowling whether it be spin, new-ball swing, reverse swing.

The conditions do favour the side batting first, perhaps a little much, so it really helps that the visitors have won 2 tosses to 1 to even that up. Wish that could somehow be the case on all tours.

Yeah, the toss has been a factor on these decks. But NZ have gone and done it the hard way in the first and 3rd tests by wasting the opportunity to bat first and conceding big leads, having to make a comeback.

I know, and it is notable that NZ have won (pending) two matches on the back of trailing after the first innings. But it's still been very helpful to avoid batting last, moreso than an advantage to bat first.
