*Official* Pakistan v New Zealand in the UAE 2018

Nope, the best anyone's managed is a drawn series (SA twice and us once).

Tbf, Pakistan are patently not the same team that they were prior to MisYou's retirement.
They may not be, particularly the batting, but it would still be a major achievement to win in these conditions when Pakistan have Yasir Shah. Would still be proud of a draw but a win would be a real landmark.

First test was in SL though

Did not know Australia played in SL/UAE back in 02/03, I guess that was after the bomb blast that ended NZ's tour. I'm going to exclude that series for the purposes of this discussion .

Yes I knew SL won one test but couldn't remember if they won the series - so that makes them the only winning visitor since Pakistan started playing there in 2010.
Yea pretty much. It was a huge achievement. And Frankly quite the surprise for even the SL fans given the state of our cricket these days.

yep, SL was the first ever team to win a series against Pak in the UAE. They did it last year.

Pak have been very bad since misyou departure.

But still, they are no pushovers in the UAE even after misyou and it would be quite an achievement if NZ manage to win (which they are looking quite likely to)

Eep. Not the best start. Height's the only thing that could save Kane here.

CDG getting set to walk out, I see.

Cricinfo was telling me the last over that it was Watling at the crease but has now switched to de Grandhomme. Intent, I guess.

Might enjoy facing the new ball more than any old ball reverse or spin.

Played Nicholls. This series has been a breakthrough for him, fronted up against a good and varied attack.

Take a bow Henry Nicholls. Determined, good match sense, finds a way, scores runs when the team needs him - great hundred.

Grit and gumption, two things Henry Nicholls understands like breathing and existing.
