Ah that's ****ed up. Poor kid. Teams come out here for test tours every four years, you want to see the best players. Hope he recovers quickly and fully.

I'd assume it'll be Rahul and Vijay won't it?

Dhawan might go well on the "faster" pitches than he did over in England, and even over there he showed some interest in sticking it out. Rahul is mentally shot at this level. I think Vijay should hold us alongside Dhawan till Shaw is fit.

EDIT: Of course Dhawan isn't in the squad...

Hopefully it ends up just being the one test. The only thing I was really excited for in this series was seeing Prithvi.

Indians should never try to do anything in the outfield, just doesn't end well.

Dhawan is absolutely terrible at handling even marginal bounce off a length. Rahul is pretty terrible right now but he's still more likely to get a score imo.

The Ganguly approach of having underlings to to the menial things like fielding has a lot of merit tbh.

Minor ankle injuries usually take about 6 weeks to heal. I have had one in the past. Don't know what it'd be like for athletes.

Well thankfully most of our bowlers struggle to find the lengths consistently that Ryan Harris used during the undoing of Dhawan last series.

Hopefully if ***(mins) isn't spraying around he'll be right up in Dhawan's face.

Geez the video of that Shaw injury looked bad but nowhere near as bad as that photo made it look.

Decent job in the field there too.

I wonder if some of the reluctance towards tour games is the injury risk as well? Both for the touring side and for the cricketers put out to face them.

Yeah, an extra business class ticket is going to bankrupt BCCI.

I could understand this. Imagine destroying your ankle and missing a test because you were trying to catch a hoick off Max Bryant in a farcical tour match.
