It's a trade they needed to do yeah but it's gonna be a real struggle for Brown to get those three playing in a way they can win in the playoffs. Covington was their second best shooter and Saric maybe their third? (though he's been ass this season). They need to move Fultz+Picks for a good player who can shoot off the ball before he loses all of his value.

I really like both Saric and RoCo but they're basically role players in a contender and are highly unlikely to ever be good enough to be part of a starting rotation that wins a title
As Sixers seem to have changed to a win now mode, Fultz definitely should be packaged up as (to put it nicely as I can), he's a project and a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way from being the finished article

Nah, they'll only have about 20-22m, which is still a lot of money but not a max slot. Could get them a very good player though.
Saric I agree but Covington is probably the best help defender in the league and is a 35%+ shooter from deep. Plus he's only making 10m a year for the next three(!) years, he's definitely good enough to be the second wing on a title winning team. He would've been the third best starter on the Cavs team that beat the 73-9 Warriors, for instance. That said he did have a horrible playoffs last year, but missing shots can happen to anyone.
But it's not really about that, it's about spacing the floor to create room for Simmons, Embiid and now Butler, who all do their damage inside the arc. Playing all three of them together is going to cause huge spacing issues which they now absolutely now need to address by trading assets.
Funnily enough, this makes that story in the off-season about them not wanting to include Fultz in a Kawhi deal a little ridiculous.Hopefully it's not true as it makes Brand look like a bit of a dickhead.

If they trade Fultz for picks (probably all that he's worth atm), it goes to 30m
If reports are to be believed, Fultz was never the centrepiece of any deal for Kawhi as they wanted either Embiid or Simmons plus fillers
With an eye to the furture, I think the Sixers were smart to pounce now as there's going to be huge competition for max players next summer and no guarantee that they'll hit pay-dirt
Assuming Jimmy re-signs, now they can focus upon building around Joel, Ben & Butler

Pretty sad as other parts of his game are progressing (defence, distribution, getting to the rim) but he freezes most of the time when he has the chance to shoot with time and it's definitely getting worse
