Said with sadness rather than anger as I read them. It's a shame, but it's hard to see him coming back from here.
Nope, they're fine thanks. Most people seem to cope, anyway. Then you need to work on your clarity and content of your responses.
Much as I admired Chappy the bowler he hasn't impressed me as a coach - if you look at Hameed's record this season you'll find that just about every (in fact very possibly without exception) dismissal has been bowled, lbw and the occasional caught behind so he's clearly missing straight ones, unlike the bloke I watched batting most of the day at Lord's a couple of years ago - surely that suggests a technical issue doesn't it?Said with sadness rather than anger as I read them. Sounds like it. Whether Chappell is the best person to coach an opening batsman is maybe questionable, but I don't know a huge amount about the coaching setup at Lancashire. It sounds like Hameed was doing better when being coached by his dad.Much as I admired Chappy the bowler he hasn't impressed me as a coach - if you look at Hameed's record this season you'll find that just about every (in fact very possibly without exception) dismissal has been bowled, lbw and the occasional caught behind so he's clearly missing straight ones, unlike the bloke I watched batting most of the day at Lord's a couple of years ago - surely that suggests a technical issue doesn't it?
Inclined to agree, and of course he's only human, so probably has a complete crisis of confidence as well now - as for Chappy he's certainly, as you'd expect, done a good job with Tom Bailey, so perhaps I should direct my ire more towards Mark Chilton, who is presumably the batting specialistSounds like it. Decent shout that, although I suspect the job is more likely to go to Steven CroftConsidering how awful our batting has been in general its hard to give any support to Chilton keeping his job. Might be he's the last of an old guard not seen in the game much anymore, the old MGS student who's been coached from 11 in that style, and can't get his message across to people from a different walk of life. Correct form and technique is possibly so ingrained in him he struggles to describe it to someone who's forgot it.
Wonder if Mal Loye fancies a journey back up north....

Would be amazing if Warwickshire didn't employ him in that role should he want to go into coaching.Trott would be a good batting coach.
He would be better as a batting coach than Ramprakash with England. For now he is a scout for Smith. Maybe involved with the Lions.Would be amazing if Warwickshire didn't employ him in that role should he want to go into coaching.
Well I don't think many people think Ramprakash is any good as coach. The fact we have a former flaky temperamental bloke in charge of a flaky temperamental batting line up says it all.He would be better as a batting coach than Ramprakash with England. He's not hung up his bat has he? Reckon he's still got a fair whack to give in the short forms to be focusing on coaching, and he wasn't exactly a top class batsmen either. Loye at least was proven enough as a top rung county batsman, but also had enough fire and drive to want to be more - that's what we need to rub off on the current lot.Decent shout that, although I suspect the job is more likely to go to Steven Croft
I'm sure I read somewhere that the Hampshire game would be his last, but can't find it now - it's possible I imagined it, as I seem to be having an increasing number of senior momentsHe's not hung up his bat has he? Sadly struggling to think of any decent batsmen we've produced within the county in recent memory. Probably going back to the likes of Athers and Fairbrother, but the latter I suspect is doing a fair service in being an agent to want to go back to coaching
Broadly similar to what the press said after his tests. He's a bit loose at present (especially to bat 4) but obviously has a load of natural talent. IMO he'll need to learn to be a bit tighter allround if he wants to succeed at international level. Obviously he's only 20 so got plenty of time.I'd be interested to hear your views on Ollie Pope, if you've watched much of him. I see he's just helped himself to a run-a-ball hundred against a pretty decent Essex attack. His fifth FC ton, I think, which isn't bad before his 21st birthday.
EDIT
And gone. Serves me right really.
