Probably the worst of the last 3 decades, I can't say much about the blackwashes, but in the last 2 years or so it's been diabolically horrible.

That is a fair point.

But if England keep selecting him and knowing what he is producing it is only done because of his name.

At least keep trying something new and you may get surprised.

But in saying that Cook does have fight in him. I don't expect him to lie down. This is a massive innings and he has got through the difficult part as an opener. The stage is set.
