Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

Looks like I am out of my depth but it goes to prove if you don't ask and push a question you won't learn... I have only heard of the great bowlers but don't have enough experience or knowledge of the workman bowlers who were a bit inconsistent to be picked regularly but still 'maybe' better than some top flight Indian bowlers. I still stand by the coaching and need for either National/regional or even club to produce the players they need.

The key thing here is I have never seen many of the players spoken about but their reputation precedes them, for me. I don't really like entering these kind of 'constructive' debates but feel this is not a matter of Pakistan produces the better bowlers but why India doesn't produce high class pace bowlers... ? Considering these are two great cricket nations and differ in the general quality of their pace bowling.

The keeping of Bari and Kirmani, I think, were at about the same level. Rashid Latif, who didn't play too many tests, was probably a bit better than both.

The teams being put out for SC have a very weak batting. The tail is starting at 7. And Imran at 6 is too high for an ATXI

The Tiger King
Gavaskar
Sehwag/Hanif
Younis/Dravid
Tendulkar
Javed Miandad
MoYo
*Imran Khan
Bari/Kirmani/Latif
Akram
Kumble/Ashwin
Waqar

Decent deep batting. ATG bowling attack. Great keeping.

Imran should be at 7 or 8, as a frontline pacer. But the problem is a lack of a Miller/Sobers/Faulkner kind of all rounder. Maybe Mankad but I don't know much about his batting.

If you want a rounded all rounder in place of moyo you can choose mushtaq Mohammad

Imran Khan as fifth bowler I think would be wasted. He's too good a bowler to be bowling only a dozen or so overs. Should be played as one of the frontline pacers. Kapil is a good enough fifth bowler but he's still an inferior bat to Khan and with him as the bowling all rounder already, Kapil becomes difficult to fit in. I see a better case for Mankad as the second spinner/all rounder since it's an Asian team. Or simply get Hazare/Tendulkar to jump in as the fifth bowler since they wouldn't be bowling many. The lack of a batting all rounder is a bit of a problem.
Kapil better batsman than Imran.

You can't chop up a player's career like that, and if you want to go that way then Imran had 80 wickets in 18 tests against WI at 21.19 and 64 in 18 against Australia at 24.97, collectively those figures are better than Kapil's. Imran averaged 4.1 wickets a test for his entire 88 test career despite playing some matches as a batsmen when he was recovering from his shin stress fractures and not bowling all that much near the end, while Kapil averaged 3.3 over his whole career despite generally being India's best pacer, and bowler even. And no, no one is saying he's not good, they're just saying that Imran is better. Kapil is not on Imran's or Miller's level, and is not a great bowler for anything other than his longevity.
Who is comparing him to Imran?
He is the 4th pacer and extra allrounder

Imran easily better cricketer and bowler.
Kapil better batsman and vastly better fielder.

Why cant you keep 2 bowling allrounders in the team? Especially when one of them can destroy greatest of the bowling attacks when needed.

Kapil and Imran should both be in the first Indo-Pak XI along with Wasim, Waqar and a spinner. Gives the side good balance and I feel Kapil is being underrated here when many say that he is not as good as Asif/Akhtar. He singlehandedly led India's bowling during his times and was the lone good fast bowler in unresponsive Indian pitches.
This.
And in this company, he will become a far bigger match winner. Only Asian cricketer who can be dangerous both with bat and ball against top opponents.

Peak Imran is a legit Top 6 Test batsman, peak Dev could hold down the role as an aggressive number 7. Overall Imran's achievements with the bat outshine those of Kapil's

You could make a case for Kapil being the better ODI batsman but I don't see how he is in Tests.

Good case for better fielder tho. But I think Imran's just the better batsman, bowler and cricketer in Tests.

You don't get Imran's peak bowling when he is capable of holding the #6 slot - and then you might as well pick a better batsman. Imran's position in the team has to be 7.
