Such a tame decision to bowl first, for all the flak Cook received, i struggle to see how Root is any better. At least Cook was scoring 100's as captain.

Reminds me of the Oval test in 2015 - we were all assured England were willing to 'put the foot on the throat' having already clinched the series, the commentary team reminding us Cook had supposedly called each member of the team after the 4th test seeking to confirm this, only to bowl first on a flat pitch and get duly slapped around by an innings

Cricinfo says Mark Craig hit his first ball for 6. No idea if that correct but both nuts.
