*Official* India Tour of England 2018

True.

Others were saying that it couldn't get tougher than this debuting against Broad and Anderson at Trent Bridge.

Funny place, Trent Bridge. Lots of people think it must habitually be a minefield because of Australia's 60ao in 2015, but there have been plenty of times when it's been very batter-friendly.
Looks like Root fell for this too. Reminds me of Edgbaston 2005 when Ponting invited England to bat because of how badly they'd batted in the previous test rather than anything in the pitch.

Was a really flat shitheap in the 2014 India series too iirc.

Have you still got your wallet?
Y3ah bro. Funny you should ask. She kinda lost her phone and wanted to get my phone to ring her number. I grabbed my javcket allr eady to retrace out steps nd ****. Then she saw that it had fallen on the carpet out of her back pocket. We had a laugh and ordered more drinks. And I have her number. Offered to delete it at the end if she didn't want to meet again. She told me to keep it. Woot twoot

If not anything else, this bouncer attack, somewhat ironically, seems to have stemmed the flow of runs.

Wait till the end of the day and Root would give you a lucid, even if not entirely convincing, answer to that question.
Nah, doesn't make sense. Good batting conditions. Make 400+ and then get the opposition wickets seems far better approach.

Tbf, even at the toss, the pitch did look like it had some grass cover and could help the seamers. England will still have similar batting conditions to India, maybe even better on day 2 and 3.
So? Unless it's absolute great bowling conditions, it's better to bat. As Swann said just now, Root missed a trick here.

With the kind of luck that Woakes has been having so far, one would have expected Anderson to pull it off.

C'mon, the time is now propitious to bring Rashid back; give him a chance to earn his match fee.

Broad now threatens to go into one of his god modes. C'mon, take it easy: this is not Australia.
